7. REFLECTION

In the Design Research Dissertation module, I learned many important skills for research. I learned how to write research proposals, do literature reviews, and carry out primary and secondary research. I also learned how to present findings in a clear way. I got better at making problem statements, asking research questions, and setting objectives. These skills helped me understand how to start and organize a study. I also practiced collecting and analyzing data, which made my research skills stronger.

When I worked on secondary research, I learned how to study other people’s work and take useful ideas from it. This helped me understand the background of my study and how past research connects to my own. When I made presentations and reflection reports, I got better at sharing my ideas. I learned how to explain difficult topics in a simple way. I know this skill will help me in school and work.

During this module, I saw how important it is to follow clear instructions and have a strong plan. These things made it easier to focus on my research. When I did primary research, I faced many challenges, like finding people to answer questions and dealing with different kinds of data. I had to find ways to solve these problems. This taught me how to adapt when things don’t go as planned.

I also learned how to manage my time well. There were many tasks to finish, and I had to make sure I stayed on track. I had to plan carefully and decide which tasks were the most important. This helped me stay organized, especially when working on many parts of the project at the same time.

The module taught me why having a clear research problem and goal is important. This helped me stay focused on what I wanted to achieve. Looking at other research also showed me why studying past work is useful. It helped me find gaps and understand where my study fits.
