WEEK 1: LECTURE

On this week's lecture, Mr Fauzi has told us our class will be conducted via online mode through out the semester. Class will be mainly using Google Classroom for class activity. Moreover, Mr Fauzi also introduced us to our module, Digital Photography and Imaging using Module Information Booklet. He also has showed us some past student's work.

Learned the importance of PHOTOSHOP for graphic designer :

1. Express our creativity
2. Create graphic design
3. Restoration of old images
4. Integrate graphics with text artistically
5. Make use of brushes
6. Change photo color
7. Rectify mistakes in photographs

Digital Imaging: The process of creating, editing, and storing visual images using computers.

10 Tips of Successful Graphic Designer: 
1. Follow the tutorials (help to improve SKILLS)
2. Experiment (help to get comfortable with software, Adobe Illustration, Adobe Photoshop, etc)
3. Memorize all keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+c, ctrl+v, ctrl+p, etc)
4. Try to replicate others work
5. Do participate in Design Competition
6. Subscribe to online galleries
7. Smart objects to smart designers
8. Scaling artworks and proportions 
9. Use actions to personalize work
10. Organize the files properly (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)



WEEK 1: TUTORIAL

During tutorial session, Mr Yusoff brief about students responsibilities, assignment and assessment methods. 
The class will be using Google Classroom for class activity. 
We also need to create a file at Google Drive.
Mr Yusoff also introduced us what is collage using pre-recorded video. He also has shown us some previous work from our seniors. Example of Collage





We need to prepare the material to do the collage activity.
  1. Magazine (Uniqlo, H&M, Popular...etc)
  2. Old magazine
  3. Search from website and print it out
  4. Canvas (Black, white or pattern as you like)
  5. Cutting mat 
  6. Cutter 
  7. Scissor
  8. Glue 
These material should be prepared before the next tutorial class (which is at Week 02).

She is a freelance illustrator. When I first saw her work, I was amazed by her use of colors. Her pieces are filled with cartoonish hues, rich and vibrant.


This artwork expressed :
This particular artwork primarily features shades of deep blue, exuding a refreshing sense of summer, carrying the essence of the sea. The scene is cute, friendly, and heartwarming. Within it, the composition of elements is strong, cleverly blending "intricacy" and "simplicity." Upon closer inspection, you'll notice that she hasn't delved into excessive detailing in any particular area, yet the entire artwork appears so gorgeously intricate, with the details standing out prominently. She offers viewers a profoundly impactful visual experience. With soft brush strokes, she outlines a fantastical and romantic world.

She is a Japanese illustrator. The first time I saw her work, I was amazed by her sensitivity to color, her control and mastery of it, she played with colors effortlessly.


This artwork expressed :
This artwork has a distinct personal style, vibrant and colorful without being chaotic. Instead, her exquisite color combinations make the pictures more vivid and lively. At the same time, the high saturation and vivid colors are combined with traditional Japanese patterns, providing a visually stunning and luxurious experience.

He is a Japanese conceptual illustrator born in the 2000s. When I first saw his work, I was greatly surprised by his adeptness at using lines to create compositions with a strong sense of deep perspective.


This artwork expressed :
His works are predominantly black and white, and his personal style is distinct. He favors extreme perspectives, employing exaggerated techniques to infuse his pieces with an incredible sense of tension. This results in a world he portrays that is quiet yet not rigid, brimming with lively emotions.
